My name is Kayla Mungin. I am a mother of 2 young boys aged 4 and 1.
I have passion for helping others. I have a deep desire to help and support you and your family during the pregnancy, labor, and postpartum experience.
I have had a positive and transformative birth experiences and I want to help others have a similar experience.
I want to make a significant impact on the lives of the families I work with.
You can expect up to three prenatal visits during your pregnancy, which can be conducted either in-person or virtually, depending on your preference. These visits are designed to be both informative and relaxing, and include a stress-relieving massage. During these sessions, we will discuss your pregnancy in detail and address any questions, concerns, or fears you may have. I will provide you with relevant information and resources, and assist you in creating your personalized birth plan. Additionally, I will explain my role as a doula, my limitations, and how I work collaboratively with you, your partner, and your healthcare team to provide support throughout the labor and delivery process. In addition to your birth plan, we will also discuss your postpartum plans for you and your baby, including support, feeding, sleeping, and other relevant topics. My goal is to ensure that you feel empowered and prepared for the entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey, and that you have all the necessary information and resources to make informed decisions.
I am committed to being available to you 24 hours a day, starting at 37 weeks of pregnancy, unless there are other unforeseen emergencies. During labor and birth, I offer in-person physical support and also provide virtual support if needed. When you are ready for my support, I will join you either at your home or the hospital and remain with you until the baby is born. Throughout labor and birth, I draw upon my professional training, knowledge, and experience to provide physical comfort measures, including relaxation, visualization, soothing touch, and optimal positioning. Additionally, I offer continuous emotional support during the entire labor process. I encourage open communication between you, your partner, and your healthcare providers regarding your preferences, decisions, and concerns. I will also remind you of your birth plan and help you advocate for your wishes. Early postpartum care is also included in my services, which means I will remain with you for 1-2 hours following birth to provide any necessary support and assist with the first feeding, whether it's breast or bottle. Overall, I am here to support you and your team throughout the entire labor process, from beginning to end, to help ensure the most positive and empowering birth experience possible.
As your doula, I will provide comprehensive postpartum care that includes staying with you for 1-2 hours after the birth to provide any necessary support and assistance with the first feeding, whether it's breastfeeding or bottle-feeding. You will have the benefit of up to three postpartum visits and unlimited phone support during the first four weeks after birth. During your initial postpartum visit, which will be scheduled within one to two weeks of the birth, I will either come to your home or arrange a virtual appointment to provide support and guidance for you and your family. This may include newborn care such as bathing, swaddling, breastfeeding or bottle-feeding techniques, and even postpartum massage if desired. We will also take time to review your birth experience and provide you with any additional resources or referrals you may need. Finally, we will discuss your satisfaction with my services as your doula and address any concerns or questions you may have.
